Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever! Psalm 107:1
Hi there! Are you a morning person? Do you love waking up with the sun, and welcoming in the days with joy and jubilee?! Wether you are a morning kinda person or not, giving thanks is a must! Gratitude is so vital for our mental health, and not to mention a very important virtue! Practicing Gratitude before starting your day, and before bed changes everything! Practicing Gratitude helps me shift my focus where it needs to be, and helps me make decisions while enhancing mental focus.
When we are stressed and in fight or flight, we do not make good decisions and often lose sight of what is actually important. When I am stressed and feel I am “losing it” I quickly try and think of 5 things I am thankful for. This practice helps me return to joy, and stay out of fight or flight and remain cool, calm, and collected. When my mind is calm, I am able to reason rationally, and connect to those around me much better!
Our brains are designed to hold onto the bad memories in order to protect us. This can be very good for emergencies, and such, but often this leads to anxiety, fear and going into a survival mode. When we feel ourselves slipping, it is important to take a minute to breath, pray, practice gratitude, and allow ourselves to return to joy.♡ Have a wonderful Thanksgiving my friend, and I pray you find much joy and laughter this special season!🍁☕️
